Royal Sharp, sport-chic with an integrated bracelet

The Royal Sharp takes up the codes of seventies sport-chic: a case with sharp angles, an octagonal bezel and, on most models, an integrated steel bracelet that extends the case without a break. The frosted versions get a textured finish that sparkles in the light, on the case and the bracelet alike, with zircon-set dials. Others rely on a textured dial, from smoky blue to a silvery gradient.

Three movements depending on the model. The Royal Sharp chronographs, at 41 and 42 mm, run on a Seiko VK63 meca-quartz. The Royal Sharp Bleue Zircons, at 42 mm, is driven by a Seiko NH35 automatic. The Royal Sharp Lady, at 33 mm and 8.5 mm thick, runs on a Seiko VJ24 quartz. 316L steel and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal across the whole family. Expect from $41,700 to $45,300.

The 41 and 42 mm Royal Sharp are for anyone who likes a watch with presence on the wrist, as right with a shirt as with a T-shirt. The Lady, slimmer, suits delicate wrists. What is the difference between the Royal Sharp and the Royal Sharp Lady?

Size and movement. The Royal Sharp measures 41 or 42 mm, with a Seiko VK63 chronograph or a Seiko NH35 automatic. The Lady measures 33 mm and 8.5 mm thick and runs on a Seiko VJ24 quartz: nothing to wind.

What does “frosted” mean?

It is a finish: the steel surface is textured instead of polished or brushed, which makes it sparkle in the light. On the frosted Royal Sharp, it covers both the case and the bracelet.

Can I create my own Royal Sharp?
